About us
Christiane Brom
In 1961 I was born in Worms and have lived there ever since. I completed a training in foreign language commercial correspondence and an apprenticeship at a forwarding agency. For more than 20 years I have been employed as a commercial clerk at a manufacturer of specialty chemicals, and for a long time now I have been working in our sales office. Already since 1999 sponsorships are part of my life - with different organizations, in several countries – and with very mixed experiences. The more I like being part of the small but dedicated Emukhunzulu sponsorship team. Here I turned my profession into my hobby by taking care for sponsors’ orders (school uniforms/food) and distributing the children’s mail from Kenya. To experience firsthand how my sponsored children turn into adult, independent men and women and giving them at least a chance of having a self-determined future is a great privilege, and the individual contact with them is an amazing enrichment to my very own life.

I live near Cologne. 1969 I was born and I have been sponsoring children at different organisations already for several years, but my focus is definitely on Kenya. I was so fortunate to meet some of my sponsored kids already on location. After my final secondary-school examinations (Abitur) I completed an apprenticeship at a forwarding agency. Additionally I attended night school and now hold a diploma in Business Administration (spec. foreign commerce). Today I work as a commercial clerk in the sales department of a service provider. In July 2008, on my last trip to Kenya, I visited the Emukunzulu Education Centre for the first time. There I was introduced to Frederick Buliba Ndeta, and we could consolidate the trust in each other. This was definitely not my last trip to Kenya! In our sponsorship community I am responsible for the finances, sponsors’ order handling, and the preparation of the newsletter. Together with Uschi I am in charge of the administrative duties of the community |

Born in 1952 as the 3 rd child of an Austrian mother and a father from Cologne, Germany, I sailed back to Hürth into the final and merry haven of matrimony after several more or less turbulent years. And this is exactly where I had my very first contact to a sponsorship community in Kenya. Grateful for being able to support needy children in Africa I started my first sponsorship with an 18 year old boy in September 2007. In Emukhunzulu, 7 year old Nicholas became my next sponsor kid and in doing so I persuaded my 8 year old grandchild to draw and write little letters to him. With the help of Markus, the youngest son of my husband, I configure this homepage which is deliberately aligned with the one of the Emukhunzulu Education Centre. Furthermore I take care for our fund raising projects as well as for the public relations, and I share the administrative work with Sandra. |
